From the center of Sankt Johann, head southeast on the B164 road. Continue on B164 for about 2 km until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout onto the Hinterkaiserweg. Follow this road for approximately 1.5 km until you see signs for Maiklsteig. There is limited parking available nearby, so be sure to arrive early during peak times.

To reach Maiklsteig using public transportation, first take a train to Sankt Johann in Tirol. Once you arrive at Sankt Johann train station, exit the station and look for bus services that operate to Hinterkaiserweg. The bus stop is located right outside the train station. Board the bus heading towards Hinterkaiserweg and disembark at the stop closest to the address: Hinterkaiserweg 69. From there, it is a short walk to the Maiklsteig trailhead. Start at the main square and head south towards the B164 road. Follow the B164 for about 2 km, then turn onto Hinterkaiserweg.
