Getting There

Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, which is Steyr. From Steyr, take the B139 road towards the southwest. Follow the signs for Kalkalpen National Park. After approximately 20 km, you will reach the junction with L123 where you need to turn left onto L123. Continue on L123 for about 10 km until you reach the parking area at the base of Blumaueralm, which is well-marked. Note that parking may incur a fee, so keep some cash handy.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train to Steyr from either Linz or Vienna. Once in Steyr, transfer to a local bus heading towards the village of Rosenau am Hengstpass. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. After reaching Rosenau, you can walk to the trailhead leading to Blumaueralm, which is approximately 4 km away. Make sure to check the local bus schedules as they may vary. A ticket for the train and bus may cost around €20-30, depending on your departure point.
