Car
If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the town of Pertisau, which is a popular access point for the Karwendel Mountains. From Pertisau, head towards the Achensee lake and then follow the signs towards the Karwendelbahn cable car station. Park your car at the designated parking area near the cable car station. The parking fee is approximately €5 per day. Once you have parked, take the Karwendelbahn cable car up to the top station at 1,800 meters. From the top station, you will need to hike approximately 4 km towards the Birkkarspitze Biwak Hütte, following the marked hiking trails.

If you are using public transportation, take a train to Jenbach station. From Jenbach, transfer to bus line 831, which will take you to Pertisau. The bus ride costs around €3.50. Upon arriving in Pertisau, walk towards the Karwendelbahn cable car station. After reaching the top of the cable car station (which costs about €20 for a round trip), follow the marked trails for about 4 km to reach the Birkkarspitze Biwak Hütte.
