Car
From Mittenwald, drive towards the Karwendel Mountains. Take the B2 road heading south, and follow the signs for the Karwendelbahn cable car. There is a parking lot available at the base of the cable car station, which costs approximately €5 for a day. Once parked, take the cable car to the top station (approximately €15 for a round trip). From the cable car station, follow the marked hiking trails towards Westliche Karwendelspitze, which is about a 2-3 hour hike.
Public Transportation
Take a regional train from Innsbruck to Mittenwald, which takes about 30 minutes. Once in Mittenwald, walk to the bus station and take bus 2 towards the Karwendelbahn cable car. The bus ride takes approximately 15 minutes and costs around €3. After arriving at the cable car station, purchase a ticket for the cable car (approximately €15 for a round trip) to reach the top. From the cable car station, follow the marked hiking trails towards Westliche Karwendelspitze, which will take about 2-3 hours.
Hiking
If you're already in the vicinity of the Karwendelbahn cable car station, you can start your hike directly from there. Follow the well-marked hiking trails leading to Westliche Karwendelspitze. The hike is moderately strenuous and will take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Be sure to carry sufficient water and snacks, and wear appropriate hiking gear.
