Car
If you are traveling by car, first navigate to Krimml Waterfalls. From the Krimml Waterfalls parking area, continue on the road towards the Krimml Wasserfälle visitor center. Follow the signs indicating the path to the waterfalls. The drive should take around 5 minutes. Once you reach the visitor area, park your car (note that parking fees may apply, usually around €5-€10, depending on the duration of your stay). After parking, follow the marked walking paths towards Mittlerer Achenfall, which is approximately a 15-20 minute hike uphill.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus to Krimml from nearby larger towns such as Zell am See or Mittersill. The bus will drop you off at the Krimml bus station. From there, follow the signs to the Krimml Waterfalls entrance (approximately a 10-minute walk). Once you arrive at the entrance, you will need to pay an entry fee of around €4 per person. Then, follow the well-marked hiking trail leading to Mittlerer Achenfall, which will take about 15-20 minutes.
Walking
For those already in Krimml, you can simply start walking from any point in the village. Head towards the Krimml Waterfalls entrance, which is well-signposted. The walk from the village center to the entrance is approximately 1 km and should take around 15-20 minutes on foot. Upon reaching the entrance, pay the entry fee, and then follow the hiking trail to Mittlerer Achenfall, which will take another 15-20 minutes.
