Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Lake Neusiedl, take the A4 motorway towards Vienna. Continue on the A4 and then take the exit toward A23. Merge onto A23 and follow the signs for the city center. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Mariahilf. Once you arrive in Vienna, navigate to Fritz-Grünbaum-Platz 1, where Haus des Meeres is located. Parking is available nearby, but be prepared for parking fees that may range from €2 to €4 per hour.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Haus des Meeres using public transport, first head to the nearest train station in Lake Neusiedl and take a train to Vienna Hauptbahnhof (the main train station). From there, take the U1 subway line towards Stephansplatz. At Stephansplatz, transfer to the U2 line towards Karlsplatz. Get off at the stop 'Karlsplatz' and switch to the U4 line towards Hütteldorf. Alight at 'Karlsplatz' and exit toward the Secession. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to Fritz-Grünbaum-Platz 1. Note: A single ticket from Lake Neusiedl to Vienna costs approximately €5.

  For a more convenient option, consider taking a taxi or a rideshare service from Lake Neusiedl directly to Haus des Meeres. This can be arranged via local taxi services or rideshare apps. The journey will take around 40 minutes depending on traffic and will cost approximately €50-€70. This option is ideal if you're traveling with a group or prefer direct transport.
