    Car

    If driving from Mostviertel, take the B31 road towards Göstling an der Ybbs. Follow signs for Göstling, continuing on B31 for approximately 30 kilometers. Upon arriving in Göstling, follow signs to Lassing and take a left onto Lassing 19, where you'll find Mendlingtal. On-site parking is available free of charge. Parking is located near the village pond.

    To reach Mendlingtal by public transport, take a train to Göstling an der Ybbs. From the Scheibbs train station, take bus 655 to Göstling/Ybbs Rathaus. Transfer to bus 643 towards Lassing, alighting at the "Lassing/GH Fahrnberger" stop, 50 meters from the destination. Bus tickets can be purchased on board for approximately €2.50.

    For a direct route, taxis are available from Mostviertel to Mendlingtal, with fares ranging from €30-€50 depending on the starting location. This enchanting valley, also known as the Mendlingtal Adventure World, invites visitors to step back in time and experience the world of timber rafting.The valley stretches for 3.5 kilometers and is easily explored via well-maintained paths, bridges, and forest tracks that wind through canyons and idyllic lowland forests. The starting point is the village pond in Lassing. As you embark on your journey, you'll follow the theme of the "Holzweg" or "Wooden Path," immersing yourself in the cool, clear water and fresh air, far from the hustle of everyday life.Around 1550, the Eisenwurzen region, where Mendlingtal is located, was the most important iron-producing area in Europe. The Mendlingtal Valley is situated along the Lower Austrian "Eisenstraße" or "Iron Trail," offering visitors a glimpse into the lives of hammer lords, blacksmith journeymen, and woodcutters.The centerpiece of the theme park is the operative timber rafting plant. You can also explore the Schmiedegesellenhaus (blacksmith journeymen's hostel) with its Rauchkuchl (smokehouse), complete with photo documentation, and the Venetian timber saw. Other attractions include the Großegger mill, manor house fishponds, a café, a playground, and an organic shop.The hiking path leads you through three awesome gorges. As you cross numerous tiny wooden bridges, take time to admire the beauty of nature. You'll also find info signs along the trail, sharing interesting facts about different plants or the valley itself.Mendlingtal is a great hiking area for the entire family. The paths are well-secured, making it suitable for children. However, the route is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs due to stairs and narrow passages.
