If you're driving from Mürztal, head southwest on B113 towards Mürzsteg. Continue on B113 for approximately 18 kilometers. As you approach Wald am Schoberpaß, look for signs indicating the Freizeitsee. Turn right onto Wald am Schoberpaß road, and follow it until you reach the parking area at Wald am Schoberpaß 98b. Note that parking may incur a small fee, usually around €3 for the day.

To reach Freizeitsee Wald Am Schoberpaß via public transport, start at the nearest train station in Mürztal. Take a train towards Schoberpass. Once you arrive at the Schoberpass station, transfer to a local bus heading towards Wald am Schoberpaß. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Disembark at the Wald am Schoberpaß stop, and from there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to the lake. Be sure to check the local bus schedule as they may not run frequently.

For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Mürztal. Follow B113 towards Mürzsteg and enjoy the scenic ride for about 18 kilometers.
