If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Mürztal. Follow the signs towards Aflenz Kurort, which is about a 20-minute drive. Take the B114 road and continue straight until you reach the town of Aflenz Kurort. Once in Aflenz, follow the signs that indicate directions towards Großer Winkelkogel. You can park your car at the designated parking area near the trailhead, which is free of charge.

For those using public transportation, begin at the Mürztal bus station. Take the Bus Line 121 towards Aflenz Kurort. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Disembark at the Aflenz Kurort stop. From there, follow the signs to Großer Winkelkogel, which is about a 30-minute walk from the bus stop. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the path can be steep and rocky.

Once you reach the trailhead from either parking or the bus stop, you'll need to hike to Großer Winkelkogel. The trail is well marked and takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to ascend, depending on your pace.
