Schattberg-West, reaching 2,096m, is a prominent peak in the Kitzbühel Alps, offering a blend of exhilarating outdoor activities and breathtaking alpine scenery. As part of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, it's a key access point to one of Austria's largest ski areas.In winter, Schattberg-West transforms into a haven for skiers and snowboarders. It is known for more challenging runs. A 7km run with a vertical drop of 1,010m is the longest in the ski area. The Schattberg-West provides access to both east and west slopes, ensuring varied terrain.During summer, Schattberg-West becomes a paradise for hikers and mountain bikers. Numerous trails cater to different skill levels, from leisurely strolls to challenging ascents. Mountain bikers can enjoy gravelled tracks and demanding freeride routes like the X-Line. The mountain also offers panoramic tours with views of lakes and other peaks.Reaching the summit is an experience in itself. The Westgipfelbahn, an 8-person gondola, provides access from Hinterglemm, while the Schattberg X-Press ascends from Saalbach. Once at the top, visitors can enjoy the Sky Rest mountain restaurant and other amenities. The peak also serves as a starting point for the Seven Summits tour and the Pinzgau Walk.
