Train
From Salzburg, head to the Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station). You can walk there from the city center or take a local bus. At the train station, purchase a ticket to Berchtesgaden. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Berchtesgaden station, exit the station and follow the signs toward the town center.
Bus
From Salzburg, you can take the bus number 840 from the Salzburg Bus Station (near the main train station). The journey to Berchtesgaden takes approximately 50 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as buses may not run frequently. Upon arrival at Berchtesgaden, disembark at the main bus stop in the town center.
Walking and Public Transport
If you are in the city center of Salzburg, walk to the Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station) which is around 20 minutes away on foot. From there, take a train to Berchtesgaden. After arriving at Berchtesgaden, you can explore the town by walking, as many attractions are within walking distance from the train station.
