Public Bus
To reach Mondsee from Salzburg, start at the main bus station, 'Salzburg Hauptbahnhof'. From there, take bus line 140 towards 'Mondsee'. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as buses may not run frequently. Once you arrive at the 'Mondsee' bus stop, you will be right in the town center, from where you can easily explore the beautiful lake and surrounding area.
Train and Bus
Begin your journey at 'Salzburg Hauptbahnhof' and take a train towards 'Attnang-Puchheim'. Get off at the 'Vöcklamarkt' station. From there, transfer to bus line 160, which will take you directly to Mondsee. The total journey time is around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Upon arriving in Mondsee, you will find yourself near the lake where you can enjoy the scenic views.
Bicycle
If you enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike in Salzburg and take the scenic route to Mondsee. Start from the city center and follow the designated bike path along the Salzach River. The route is approximately 30 km and will take around 2 hours. Follow the signs towards 'Fuschlsee', and then continue to Mondsee. This journey offers beautiful views of the Austrian countryside.
