Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the historic center of Salzburg, head towards the Salzach River. Walk along the riverbank towards the east until you reach the Makartsteg pedestrian bridge. Cross the bridge to the other side. Once across, turn right onto Franz-Josef-Kai and continue straight. Follow the road until you reach the Mönchsberg lift station, which will be on your left. Take the lift up to the top of Mönchsberg. Upon exiting the lift, follow the path to your right, and you will find the Museum der Moderne located at Am Mönchsberg 32.

    From the Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take the bus number 5 or 25 towards the 'Mönchsberg' stop. The journey takes about 10 minutes.
