Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Sölden. Head southwest on Giggijochstraße towards Giggijoch 1a. Follow this road for about 3 km. You will have to pay for parking at the Giggijoch lift station, which typically costs around €8-€12 for a day. Once parked, you can access the Giggijoch cable car which will take you up to the Rotkogel Bergstation.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, catch the Ötztal bus from the Sölden bus station, located near the center of town. Take the bus line that goes to Giggijoch; the journey takes about 15 minutes. The bus fare is approximately €3. Once you arrive at the Giggijoch lift station, you will need to purchase a ticket for the cable car to Rotkogel Bergstation. The cable car ticket costs around €10-€15 for a round trip.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and are staying close to the Giggijoch area, you can hike to Rotkogel Bergstation. From the town center, head toward Giggijochstraße and follow the marked hiking trails. This is a longer trek, approximately 1.5-2 hours, and is recommended for those in good physical condition. Make sure to wear proper hiking shoes and bring water.
