Public Transport - Tram

If you are taking Tram Line 1, you will need to ride towards 'Prater' and get off at 'Burgtheater' stop. For Tram Line 2, ride towards 'Stadion' and also get off at 'Burgtheater'. The theater will be a short walk from the stop.

You can take the U-Bahn (Metro) Line U2. If you are at 'Karlsplatz', take the U2 towards 'Donaustadtbrücke' and get off at the 'Schottentor' station. Upon exiting the station, walk towards the direction of Universitätsring. The Burgtheater is located just a few minutes' walk away at Universitätsring 2.

If you are already in the Innere Stadt area, simply head towards the Ringstraße. Locate the nearby 'Volksgarten' or 'Universität Wien' as your reference points. From 'Volksgarten', walk east towards the Ringstraße, and you will see the Burgtheater on your right. It is a large, impressive building at Universitätsring 2.
