Getting There

  • Public Transportation - Tram

    If you are near the city center, you can easily reach the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) by taking Tram Line 1 or 2. Head to the nearest tram stop that services these lines. Board the tram heading towards 'Praterstern' (for Tram 1) or 'Burggasse-Stadthalle' (for Tram 2). Get off at the 'Stubenring' stop. After disembarking, walk a short distance to the museum, which is located at Stubenring 5. The entrance will be clearly marked.

  • Public Transportation - U-Bahn

    Another option is to take the U-Bahn (subway). If you are near the U-Bahn station 'Karlsplatz', board the U4 line (green line) towards 'Heiligenstadt'. Get off at 'Schottenring' station. From there, it is about a 10-minute walk to the museum. Exit the station and head towards the Stubenring. The museum will be located at Stubenring 5 on your left side.

    If you are already in the Innere Stadt (the first district), you can walk to the Museum of Applied Arts. Start at the Vienna State Opera and head east on Opernring towards the Ringstraße. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Stubenring. Turn left onto Stubenring, and the museum will be located at number 5 on your right side. The walk should take about 15 minutes.
