Getting There

  • Public Transport & Hiking

The Berliner Höhenweg is best accessed via public transport to the Zillertal Valley. From Jenbach train station, take the Zillertalbahn train to Mayrhofen. From Mayrhofen, buses connect to various trailheads, including Finkenberg (a common starting point). For example, to reach the Olpererhütte trailhead at Schlegeisspeicher, take a bus from Mayrhofen to Ginzling, then another bus to the Schlegeisspeicher dam (€11 per person). From the dam, it's a 3km hike to the Olpererhütte. Keep in mind that bus schedules may be limited, especially during off-season. Check the local transport website (Zillertalbahn or VVT) for current timetables and fares. Consider purchasing a Zillertal Activcard for discounts on public transport and cable cars.

  • Parking

If driving, you can park in Mayrhofen and take a bus to Finkenberg, where the trail officially starts. In Mayrhofen, a 7-day parking ticket costs €7.50. Alternatively, there is parking available in Finkenberg near the sports field, but it's uncertain whether multi-day parking is permitted. Check local regulations before parking for an extended period.
