Walking
From the center of Shamakhy, the castle ruins are located approximately 2 km to the west, in the vicinity of Khinishli village. Start walking west, following the main road towards Khinishli. The walk is uphill and takes around 30-45 minutes. Look for signs directing you to the 'Gulustan Fortress' or 'Shamakhy Castle Ruins'. The path is relatively smooth but can be steep in sections. No costs are associated with walking to the site.

Taxis are available in Shamakhy. A short taxi ride from the city center to the base of the hill leading to the ruins will cost approximately 3-5 AZN. From there, you will need to walk the remaining distance uphill.
