Jamboree Park: A Tranquil Oasis in Chattogram
Escape to serenity in the heart of Chattogram at Jamboree Park, a revitalized urban oasis with dancing fountains and lush greenery.
Jamboree Park, also spelled Jamburi Park, offers a revitalized urban sanctuary in the heart of Chattogram. Located in the Agrabad commercial area, this 8.55-acre park provides a tranquil retreat from the city's busy environment. The park's history reflects urban renewal, transforming a once-neglected field into a vibrant recreational area. Originally known as Jumburi Math, the area was a popular venue for scout gatherings. Over time, it fell into disrepair, with parts of the land being encroached upon. Recognizing the need for accessible green spaces, the Public Works Department (PWD) reclaimed the land and created Jamboree Park. The park opened in 2018 and has become a beloved destination for locals and tourists. The park's design includes a 50,000 square feet water pool with dancing water fountains. Winding pathways, stretching over 8,000 feet, invite visitors to stroll and enjoy the greenery. The park is adorned with 10,000 trees of 65 different species, creating a lush landscape. Jamboree Park is designed to be accessible for all, with six entrances and elevated grounds to prevent waterlogging. At night, the park transforms with hundreds of lamps and multicoloured lighting. Jamboree Park stands as a testament to the importance of urban green spaces, promoting well-being and enhancing the quality of life for city dwellers.
