Getting There

• Rickshaw

  From the center of Chittagong, head to the nearest major road, which is either GEC Circle or the Anderkilla area. You can easily find a rickshaw by waving at one or asking a local for assistance. Tell the rickshaw driver that you want to go to Bhatiary Lake (pronounced as 'Bha-tee-ari'). The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will take you along the main roads, passing through various local neighborhoods. Keep an eye out for signposts directing you towards Bhatiari once you are closer.

• Bus

  If you prefer to take a bus, head to the bus station near the GEC Circle. Look for local buses that head towards Bhatiari or Patenga. Make sure to ask the bus conductor if they go to Bhatiary Lake. The bus journey will take roughly 45 minutes to an hour. Once you get off the bus, it may require a short walk or a rickshaw ride to the lake itself, depending on where the bus drops you off.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby and prefer to walk, you can navigate through local streets towards Narayanganj Road, which leads to Bhatiary. The distance is approximately 5 kilometers from the city center. Follow the signs that indicate the direction to Bhatiary. It might take about an hour, so be prepared for a leisurely stroll through the local scenery.

• Cycle

  For a more active approach, consider renting a bicycle from a local shop in Chittagong. Head towards the Bhatiary area via the main roads, ensuring you stay on the roads designated for bikes. Follow the directions as mentioned earlier for rickshaw and bus routes. Cycling can take about 30-40 minutes, offering a chance to explore the local environment at your own pace.
