Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving a car to the Bangladesh National Zoo from central Dhaka, head northwest on the Dhaka-Mirpur Road (also known as the Mirpur Road). Follow the road for about 8 kilometers until you reach the Mirpur area. Look for Zoo Road, and turn right onto it. Continue straight for approximately 1 kilometer, and you will find the entrance to the Bangladesh National Zoo on your left. Parking is available at the zoo entrance, but there might be a small fee for parking. Make sure to check the zoo's opening hours before your visit, as it typically opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 6:00 PM.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach the Bangladesh National Zoo by public bus from central Dhaka, make your way to the Gabtoli Bus Terminal. You can take any bus that heads towards Mirpur. Once on the bus, ask the conductor to let you know when you reach Zoo Road. The ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. After getting off at Zoo Road, walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the zoo entrance. Make sure to have some Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) on hand for the bus fare, which is typically around 20 BDT.

  If you prefer a more direct route to the Bangladesh National Zoo, you can take a cycle rickshaw or auto-rickshaw (CNG) from your location in Dhaka. Simply tell the driver you want to go to 'Bangladesh National Zoo, Zoo Road, Mirpur.' The fare will depend on your starting point, but you can expect to pay between 100-300 BDT for the trip. The ride will take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Always confirm the fare before starting your journey.
