CNG/Auto-rickshaw & Boat
From Sylhet city, the most common way to reach Ratargul is by CNG auto-rickshaw to Motor Ghat (via Shaheber Bazar). A private CNG will cost approximately 800-1200 BDT for a round trip, and the journey takes about an hour. Alternatively, a shared CNG ride from Amberkhana in Sylhet to Shringi Bridge costs around 80 BDT per person. From either Motor Ghat or Shringi Bridge, hire a local 'dinghy' boat to enter the forest. Boat fares range from 700-1500 BDT depending on the ghat and boat size, accommodating 4-6 people. Negotiate the price beforehand.
Bus and CNG/Auto-rickshaw
Alternatively, take a bus from Sylhet to Gowainghat. From Gowainghat, hire a CNG or auto-rickshaw to Ratargul, which should cost around 450-500 BDT and take 2.5-3 hours. Then, hire a local boat (trawler) to enter the forest, costing 800-1400 BDT for a return trip. Bus fare from Sylhet to Gowainghat: Approximately 40-50 BDT. CNG/Auto-rickshaw from Gowainghat to Ratargul: 450-500 BDT. Boat (trawler) for a return trip: 800-1400 BDT.
