Car
If you are traveling by car, navigate to Kuakata, which is located at latitude 21.8164467 and longitude 90.1227791. From the nearest major city, Barisal, take the Barisal-Kuakata highway (also known as the Kuakata Road). The journey is approximately 110 kilometers and takes around 3 hours. Upon entering Kuakata, look for signs leading to the beach area. Parking is available near the beach, but be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.
Bus
For those opting for public transportation, take a bus from Dhaka to Barisal. Buses like 'Shyamoli Paribahan' and 'Soudia Paribahan' offer regular services. The fare is around BDT 800-1000 and the journey takes about 7-8 hours. Once in Barisal, transfer to a local bus heading directly to Kuakata. These buses leave from the Barisal bus terminal and the fare is approximately BDT 150-200, taking another 3 hours to reach Kuakata.
Rickshaw/Local Transport
Once in Kuakata, if you need to navigate to specific locations like hotels or attractions, you can hire a rickshaw or auto-rickshaw. Fares are usually negotiable, but expect to pay around BDT 50-200 depending on the distance. Make sure to agree on the price before starting your journey.
Walking
Kuakata is a small town, and many tourist attractions are within walking distance from each other. If you are near the beach, you can easily walk to local shops, restaurants, and other attractions. Just keep in mind the local weather and stay hydrated, especially during the hot months.
