Love Point: A Memorial of Enduring Love
A waterfront monument in Rangamati honoring the martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement, symbolizing resilience and cultural pride.
The Rangamati Central Shaheed Minar stands as a poignant symbol of the Bengali Language Movement, commemorating the sacrifices made in 1952 for the recognition of Bengali as an official language. Located in Rangamati, it serves as a focal point for national, mourning, and cultural activities, particularly on Ekushey February (Martyrs' Day).
Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.
Walking
The Rangamati Central Shaheed Minar is located beside the Karnaphuli River, near the Rangamati stadium and the Rangamati Police Super Resident, making it easily accessible on foot from many parts of central Rangamati. From the Rangamati bus stand, it is a short walk to the jetty for boats and trawlers. From there, the Minar is a short walk away.
Public Transport
From other parts of Rangamati, the easiest way to reach the Shaheed Minar is by CNG (auto-rickshaw), the primary mode of local transport. A ride from the Chakma King's residence, for example, would cost approximately 30-100 BDT if reserved, or 12-30 BDT on a shared basis. CNGs are readily available throughout the town.
