If you are near the Parliament Buildings or National Heroes Square, simply walk south towards the Careenage (the waterfront). Independence Square is situated along the waterfront, adjacent to the Chamberlain Bridge and Independence Arch. The walk is generally flat and takes about 5-10 minutes from nearby landmarks.

From anywhere in Bridgetown, local buses frequently stop near Independence Square. Look for buses displaying 'Bridgetown' on the front. The standard fare is BBD $3.50, payable in cash. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Independence Square, such as Woolworth or Fairchild Street Terminal, both a short walk away. Ensure you have the exact fare in Barbados Dollars, as change is not given on Transport Board buses.
