Getting there

Public Transport

From Grantley Adams International Airport, take a bus towards Oistins. The standard bus fare is BDS$3.50 (approximately US$1.75). From the Oistins terminal, Miami Beach is a short walk away. Alternatively, from Bridgetown, take the bus from Fairchild Street Terminal to Oistins Terminal. Buses depart every 20 minutes, and the journey takes about 21 minutes. The bus fare is BDS$3.50.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available at Grantley Adams International Airport. A taxi from the airport to Miami Beach costs approximately BBD $46. The journey typically takes around 11 minutes. Taxis do not operate on a meter system, so it's essential to agree on a fare with the driver before starting your journey. From Bridgetown, a taxi to Oistins costs between $19-$23 USD.

Driving

From Grantley Adams International Airport, follow the signs towards Oistins. Once in Oistins, continue past the town center, then take the small road heading towards South Point Lighthouse. Turn right at the yellow house with the signpost, then turn right again at the T-junction with the ocean in front of you. Follow the road down until you see the beach on your left. Parking is available on the side of the road next to the beach. A visitor's permit costs $10.00 for less than two months.

Miami Beach, often called Enterprise Beach by locals, is a captivating destination on the south coast of Barbados, in Christ Church parish. The beach offers a quintessential Caribbean experience with its soft, white sands and inviting turquoise waters.The beach didn't always exist in its current form; it was created in the late 1970s after a headland was constructed, allowing sand to build up on its east side, transforming a rocky shoreline into the sandy beach it is today. Today, Miami Beach is divided into two distinct sections by a rock breakwater. The western side offers calm, crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming, making it a popular spot for families and those who prefer gentler waters. The eastern side features a wider recreation area with picnic tables under shady evergreen pines and almond trees.Every morning, local seniors gather on the beach to swim, exercise, and socialize, adding a sense of authenticity and charm. Visitors can enjoy panoramic ocean views by strolling along the cliffs and capturing memorable photos of the nearby South Point Lighthouse, built in 1852. The beach is easily accessible by public transportation and offers ample parking. Amenities include lifeguard stations, showers, and restrooms.
