Public Transport
From Grantley Adams International Airport or Bridgetown, the most economical way to reach St Lawrence Gap is by public bus. Several bus routes serve the Gap, including routes 12F, 27, 13, 28, 31 and 34. From the airport, take the bus towards Oistins, then transfer to a bus heading west towards St Lawrence Gap. From Bridgetown, take a bus heading south or east; buses will be marked with destinations like Oistins or Silver Sands. The bus fare is a flat BBD $3.50 per person, payable in cash (Barbadian dollars only). Exact change is required on Transport Board buses. The nearest bus stops to St Lawrence Gap are 'Top Rock - Southwinds' and 'Maxwell - Luigi's', each a short walk to the heart of the Gap. Note that buses can be crowded, especially during peak hours.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis are readily available at Grantley Adams International Airport and throughout Barbados. A taxi from the airport to St Lawrence Gap will cost approximately BBD $40 - $50 and the journey takes around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. From Bridgetown, a taxi to St Lawrence Gap will cost approximately BBD $74 and take around 10 minutes. While Uber is not available in Barbados, local taxi services are reliable. It's advisable to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey. Taxi fares are regulated by the government, with fixed rates for specific routes. A 5km ride in Barbados costs about 39 BBD. Tipping your driver 10% of your agreed-upon fare is customary if you enjoyed their service.
Driving
If you're driving from Grantley Adams International Airport, follow Highway 7 west towards Oistins and then continue along the coast to St Lawrence Gap. From Bridgetown, take Highway 7 south. Parking in St Lawrence Gap can be challenging, especially during peak hours. There are several parking lots available, including one near Castaways/St. Lawrence Carpark, 60m before the entrance to St. Lawrence Gap, and street parking along the Gap. Some restaurants, like Primo Bar & Bistro, offer parking refunds if you show your parking receipt. Expect to pay around BBD $5-10 per hour for parking, depending on the location and time of day.
