Walking
From the Groenplaats, a major transport hub, walk north towards the Grote Markt. You'll see the Cathedral of Our Lady's towering spire in the distance, use it as a guide. The Grote Markt is directly north of Groenplaats, about a 2-minute walk. The square opens up as you approach, with the City Hall on the west side and the Brabo Fountain in the center.
Public Transport
If arriving at Antwerp Central Station, take tram lines 3, 5, 7, or 9 to the Groenplaats stop. From there, follow the walking directions above (a short 2-minute walk). A single tram fare is approximately €2.50. Alternatively, tram 4 also stops at Groenplaats. From the 'Meir' shopping street, walk towards Hopland, then turn left; Grote Markt will be on your right.
Taxi/Ride-Share
A taxi or ride-share from Antwerp Central Station to the Grote Markt will cost approximately €10-€15, depending on traffic. The journey typically takes 5-10 minutes. Be sure to specify 'Grote Markt' as your destination.
Driving
Driving directly to Grote Markt is not recommended due to the pedestrianized zone. The nearest parking garage is 'Parking Grote Markt' located underneath the square, accessible from the Scheldekaaien (quays along the Scheldt river). Parking rates are approximately €3 per hour or €20 per day. Be aware that Antwerp's city center is a low-emission zone; check your vehicle's registration before entering to avoid fines.
