Riveo is an environmental interpretive center dedicated to the rivers of Wallonia, located in the picturesque town of Hotton. Since opening in 2007, Riveo has offered tourists a chance to learn about the local river ecosystems and the importance of their preservation. The center features a variety of exhibits, including a complex of 16 aquariums and a 12-meter reconstructed river arm, allowing visitors to observe the different species of the region. Thematic exhibitions offer a didactic approach to discovering the river and its fauna, such as crayfish and beavers. Riveo also provides nature and fishing activities with guides to discover the fauna and the richness of the river. Beyond the aquatic exhibits, Riveo boasts five themed gardens: monastic, Moorish, labyrinth, renaissance, and contemporary. An 18-hole mini-golf course winds through these gardens, providing a fun activity for all ages. The center also focuses on sustainable development and environmentally friendly practices, including energy saving and waste sorting.
