The Iconic Atomium: A Symbol of Brussels

Getting There

• Metro

  If you are near the city center, head to the nearest metro station, such as 'De Brouckère' or 'Central'. Take Line 1 (the light blue line) in the direction of 'Stockel'. Change at 'Schuman' to Line 5 (the yellow line) towards 'Erasme'. Get off at 'Heysel' station. Once you exit the station, follow the signs for Atomium, which is about a 10-minute walk away. Just head straight on Avenue de l'Atomium, and you will see the Atomium ahead.

• Bus

  From the city center, you can catch bus number 88 from 'Brussels Central' or 'De Brouckère' bus stops. Make sure to stay on the bus until you reach 'Heysel'. After disembarking at 'Heysel', you'll find yourself close to the Atomium. Just walk along Avenue de l'Atomium, which will lead you directly to the entrance.

• Tram

  If you are near the 'Brussels North' area, you can take Tram 7 towards 'Heysel'. This tram will take you directly to the Atomium area. Get off at the 'Heysel' stop, and from there, it’s a short walk along Avenue de l'Atomium to reach the Atomium.

• Walking

  If you are staying in the Laeken area, you can walk to the Atomium. From the nearest metro station 'Heysel', head south on Avenue de l'Atomium, and follow the path for about 10 minutes. You'll arrive at the Atomium, which is hard to miss due to its unique structure.

• Bike

  Brussels is bike-friendly, and you can rent a bike from one of the many bike-sharing services available in the city. Start from the city center and head north toward the Atomium. Follow the cycle paths along Avenue de l'Atomium, which will take you directly to the attraction. It's about a 30-minute ride from the center.
