    From the center of Wenduine, head southeast on Kerkstraat, which becomes Zandstraat. Continue onto Lenebrugstraat; the cemetery will be on your left. The walk is approximately 1.2km and should take about 15-20 minutes.

    Public Transport

    From the De Haan Aan Zee tram stop, take the Coastal Tram towards Knokke-Heist. Get off at the Wenduine Kerk stop. From there, walk southeast on Kerkstraat, which becomes Zandstraat, then Lenebrugstraat. The cemetery will be on your left. A single tram fare is around €3.

    The Begraafplaats van Wenduine is located a little over 1km southeast of the old town hall. The cemetery offers a serene environment for reflection and remembrance. The grounds are enclosed by a brick wall and an arched gate with a double fence at the front.Inside, a central path leads to a calvary with a simple wooden cross. A war memorial stands before the calvary, commemorating victims of both World Wars. The cemetery also holds the graves of 83 veterans from both World Wars, located behind the calvary. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission maintains seventeen graves of soldiers who died in 1940 during the retreat from Dunkirk. These graves are registered with the CWGC under Wenduine Communal Cemetery.The cemetery provides a tranquil space for visitors to remember loved ones and contemplate life's journey. The blend of traditional and contemporary styles, along with the surrounding greenery, creates an inviting atmosphere.
