From the city center of Leuven, head east towards the Naamsestraat. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Mechelsestraat. Turn right onto Mechelsestraat and walk until you reach the Leuven train station. Once at the station, take a train to Antwerp. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Antwerp Central Station, exit the station and head towards the main entrance. From the station, walk straight down the De Keyserlei street until you reach the intersection with the Frankrijklei. Turn left onto Frankrijklei and continue until you reach the Handschoenmarkt, which is a short walk from there.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental services in Leuven. Head towards the Mechelsestraat and follow the signs to the Leuven train station. Once you are at the station, take a train to Antwerp. After arriving at Antwerp Central Station, exit and cycle down the De Keyserlei, following the same route as pedestrians towards the Handschoenmarkt. It’s about a 10-minute bike ride from the station to the square.
Public Transport
To reach Handschoenmarkt via public transport, walk to the Leuven train station. Purchase a ticket to Antwerp. After a 30-minute train ride, you will arrive at Antwerp Central Station. From there, take tram line 9 in the direction of 'Hoboken' and get off at the 'De Keyserlei' stop. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Frankrijklei, then turn left. Continue walking for a few minutes, and you will arrive at Handschoenmarkt.
