Walking
If you are in the center of Mechelen, start by heading towards the Mechelen train station. Exit the station and walk straight down the street until you reach the main square, Grote Markt. From there, head northeast on the Rue de la Basse Meuse (Mechelen's main road) towards Brussels. Continue walking straight until you reach the end of the street where it intersects with the N15 road. At this point, you can take a bus or tram toward Brussels. Board any bus heading to Brussels or Brussels Central Station. Once you arrive in Brussels, follow the signs to Place d'Espagne, which is just a short walk from the station.
Bus
From Mechelen, head to the nearest bus stop. Look for buses heading to Brussels. You can take bus number 500 or 700, which frequently run between Mechelen and Brussels. The journey takes around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Brussels bus station, follow the signs to the metro or tram stations. Take tram line 93 or 94 towards Place d'Espagne. The tram ride will take about 10 minutes. Get off at the Place d'Espagne stop, and you will find the Spanish Square right in front of you.
Train
To reach Place d'Espagne by train, make your way to Mechelen train station. Purchase a ticket to Brussels Central Station. Trains run frequently and the journey is approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Brussels Central Station, exit the station and head towards the Place d'Espagne. It's about a 15-minute walk; just follow the signs to the city center, and you will soon arrive at the square.
