Walking
From the city center of Mechelen (St. Rumbold's Cathedral), head south on Sint-Romboutskathedraal towards Onze-Lieve-Vrouwstraat. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the Koning Albertlaan. Turn left onto Koning Albertlaan, and walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers. The Fort Walem will be on your right. Look for the entrance to the nature preserve along the road.

Bicycle
Starting from the Mechelen train station, head northeast on Molenbeekstraat towards Zandpoortvest. Turn left onto Zandpoortvest, and continue until it merges into Koning Albertlaan. Follow Koning Albertlaan for approximately 2 kilometers. Fort Walem will be on your left side. You can park your bicycle at designated areas near the entrance.

From Mechelen train station, take bus line 1 (direction: Battel) or line 3 (direction: Mechelen - Heffen). Get off at the 'Koning Albertlaan' stop. From there, walk approximately 300 meters towards the east along Koning Albertlaan. Fort Walem will be on your left, marked by signs indicating the nature preserve.
