Walking
If you are in the center of Nieuwpoort, start by heading towards the main square, 'Markt'. Follow the signs for 'Brugge' or ask locals for directions to the bus station. Once you reach the bus station, take the bus number 1 or 2 towards Bruges. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Bruges bus station, exit and walk towards 'Markt', which is located about 15 minutes on foot. You will pass through the beautiful streets of Bruges, and you can follow the signs or use your phone’s GPS to guide you. Upon reaching 'Markt', you'll find a vibrant square surrounded by historic buildings and shops.
Bicycle
For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle in Nieuwpoort. Head towards the coastal cycling path that leads to Bruges. The route is well-marked and takes you through scenic landscapes. The distance is about 20 km and will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your cycling speed. Once you reach Bruges, follow the signs to 'Markt', which will lead you directly to the heart of the city.
Public Transport
From Nieuwpoort, go to the nearest train station, which is 'Nieuwpoort-Stad'. Take a train to 'Brugge' (Bruges). The train ride takes around 25 minutes. Once you arrive at 'Brugge' station, exit and follow the signs to the bus stop outside the station. Take bus number 1 or 2 towards the city center. Get off at the 'Markt' stop. You will be right in front of the famous Markt square in Bruges.
