Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are driving from any location along The Belgian Coast, head towards the E40 motorway, which runs parallel to the coast. Take the exit toward A19/E403 in the direction of Ypres (Ieper). Continue on A19 for approximately 30 kilometers. Take exit 3 toward Ieper and follow the signs for the city center. Once in Ypres, navigate to Schachteweidestraat and look for number 45, where Observatory Ridge is located. Please note that parking might be available nearby, but check for any parking restrictions.
Public Transportation (Train and Bus)
Start by taking a train from any station along The Belgian Coast to Ypres (Ieper). Trains are frequent, but check the schedule on the Belgian National Railway Company (SNCB/NMBS) website for exact times. Once you arrive at Ypres train station, you can take a local bus (Bus Line 1) toward Schachteweidestraat. Get off at the Schachteweidestraat stop. Observatory Ridge will be a short walk from there, located at number 45. Make sure to check the bus schedule, as they may not run frequently, especially on weekends.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route, you can opt for a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber, if available in the area). Simply request a ride to Schachteweidestraat 45, 8902 Ieper. This option may be more expensive compared to public transport, but it provides convenience, especially if you are traveling in a group or carrying heavy luggage.
