Walking
From the center of Ypres, head towards the Menin Gate, which is a prominent landmark. From the Menin Gate, walk straight down the Meenseweg (the main road) until you reach the intersection with the Ieperlee (Yser River). Continue walking along the Meenseweg for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Zonnebeke area. Look for signs that point to 'Polygon Wood' or 'Polygoonbos'. When you reach Lange Dreve, turn right, and the entrance to Polygon Wood will be on your left.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Ypres. From the center, head towards Meenseweg and start cycling in the direction of Zonnebeke. The ride is approximately 5 kilometers and should take around 15-20 minutes. Follow the same route as mentioned for walking, looking for signs to Polygon Wood. Once you reach Lange Dreve, you can park your bike at the designated area near the entrance.
Public Transport
To reach Polygon Wood using public transport, you can take bus number 2 from Ypres' main bus station (Station Ypres). The bus will take you towards Zonnebeke. Get off at the 'Zonnebeke Kerk' stop. From there, walk along Lange Dreve for about 1 kilometer; the entrance to Polygon Wood will be on your right. Check the local bus schedules for the latest timings.
