Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the Ypres Market Square, head south towards the Menin Gate. From the Menin Gate, walk along the road towards the ramparts, passing the gate and continuing straight. Follow the road until you reach the intersection with the N8. Turn left onto the N8 and continue walking for about 3 kilometers. You will pass various fields and memorials along the way. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating the direction of Polygon Wood. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, you will see a sign for Polygon Wood on your right. Enter the wood and follow the paths to explore the area.

  • Cycling

    If you are cycling, start at the Ypres Market Square and head towards the Menin Gate. From there, take the road leading towards the ramparts. Continue straight until you reach the N8. Turn left onto the N8 and cycle for about 3 kilometers. Look for signposts indicating Polygon Wood. Upon reaching the sign, take the right turn into the wood. The total cycling distance is approximately 3.5 kilometers and should take around 15-20 minutes.
