Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Ypres, head towards the Menin Gate (Menenpoort), which is a well-known landmark. Walk through the gate and continue straight on the Rijselstraat (Lille Road) until you reach the junction with the N308. Turn left onto the N308. Follow the N308 for approximately 4 kilometers. You will see signs for Zonnebeke. Upon entering Zonnebeke, continue on the N308 until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto the Zonnebeekseweg. After about 500 meters, you will see the entrance to Vredesbos met Vredesmonument on your left. The monument is situated within a memorial park, making it a peaceful destination.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one in Ypres. Start at the Market Square (Grote Markt) and head towards the Menin Gate (Menenpoort). From there, follow the same route as for walking by taking Rijselstraat (Lille Road) to the N308. Biking will allow you to cover the distance quicker, so enjoy the scenic ride as you head towards Zonnebeke. After entering Zonnebeke and reaching the roundabout, take the first exit onto Zonnebeekseweg and look for the entrance to Vredesbos met Vredesmonument on your left.

• Public Transport

  From Ypres, take the train from Ypres Station (Station Ieper) to Zonnebeke. The journey is short, typically around 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Zonnebeke Station, exit the station and head south on the Zonnebeekseweg. Walk approximately 1 kilometer, and you will see the entrance to Vredesbos met Vredesmonument on your right. Ensure to check the train schedule in advance for accurate departure times.
