Walking
From the center of Ypres, start at the Menin Gate Memorial, which is a well-known landmark. Head southeast on Ieperstraat towards Korte Smedenstraat. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the N313, which is also known as the Ieperstraat. Follow this road for approximately 10 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful countryside along the way. Keep an eye out for signs directing you towards Comines-Warneton. Once you reach Comines-Warneton, look for the Christmas Truce Memorial, which is located at 7784 Comines-Warneton. The memorial is situated in a small park area and is marked with a sign.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Ypres. Start your journey at the Cloth Hall in the center of Ypres. Head southeast on the N313 (Ieperstraat) and follow the same route as the walking directions. The ride is approximately 10 kilometers and will take you through scenic areas. There is a dedicated bike lane for most of the route. Once you reach Comines-Warneton, look for the signs directing you to the Christmas Truce Memorial at 7784 Comines-Warneton.
Public Transport
To reach the Christmas Truce Memorial using public transport, start at the Ypres train station. Take a train towards Comines, which runs regularly throughout the day. Upon arrival at Comines station, exit the station and head east on Rue de la Gare. Continue onto Rue de la Libération until you reach the D941 road. Follow the D941 road north for about 1.5 kilometers until you see signs for the Christmas Truce Memorial, located at 7784 Comines-Warneton. The memorial is a short walk from the D941.
