Car
From Caracol, head south on the road leading towards the Southern Highway. Follow the signs for the Southern Highway. Continue on this road for approximately 34 miles (55 km) until you reach Mile 12. Look for the entrance to the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary on your left. The sanctuary is well-marked, and you will see a sign indicating the entrance.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, you will need to find a bus heading towards the Southern Highway from Caracol. Board a bus that is going to Belmopan or Dangriga. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at Mile 12 Southern Highway. Once you arrive at Mile 12, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles to the entrance of Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary entrance will be on your left.
Walking
If you are within the vicinity of Mile 12 and walking from a nearby area, make your way to Mile 12 Southern Highway. Look for the entrance to Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary on your left side as you walk along the Southern Highway.
