Start from Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. Head south on the road that leads to the Hummingbird Highway (approximately 15 minutes). Once you reach the Hummingbird Highway, turn right (west) and continue for about 30 minutes until you reach the junction with the Southern Highway. Turn left onto the Southern Highway and drive for approximately 1 hour until you arrive at the town of Placencia. You will need to park your car at one of the parking lots available in Placencia. Note that parking fees can vary, typically around $5-$10 per day. From Placencia, you will need to catch a water taxi to Ambergris Caye. The water taxi ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs around $25-$30 USD.
