Car
If you are driving from the central area of Orange Walk Town, take the Philip Goldson Highway (also known as the Northern Highway) southbound. Continue on this road for approximately 45 minutes until you reach Belize City. Once in Belize City, follow the signs to the downtown area. Turn onto Regent Street, where Government House is located at 71 Regent St. There is usually ample parking available in the vicinity, but be prepared to pay for parking in some areas.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Government House via public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Orange Walk Town. Look for a bus heading to Belize City (these buses run frequently throughout the day). The journey will take around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Belize City bus terminal, you can either walk to Government House, which is approximately a 20-minute walk, or take a taxi for about $5-$10 BZD. If walking, head south on the main road until you reach Regent Street, then turn left; Government House will be on your right.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Orange Walk District to Government House in Belize City. Negotiate the fare with the driver before starting your journey. Expect to pay around $100-$150 BZD for the trip. The taxi will take you directly to 71 Regent St, and you won’t have to worry about navigating public transport.
