Unveiling the Mysteries of Puuc Tun T'eel Archeological Site

Getting There

• Car

  From Sarteneja, head southeast on the main road (Road 1) towards the outskirts of the village. Continue on this road for about 3 kilometers until you reach the junction. At the junction, turn left onto a dirt road (you may see a sign for Puuc Tun T'eel). Follow this dirt road for approximately 2 kilometers until you arrive at the Puuc Tun T'eel Archeological Site. There is limited parking available near the entrance. Please note that the dirt road may be rough, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, start by taking a local bus or a taxi from Sarteneja to the junction on Road 1. Local buses may not run frequently, so it’s advisable to check the schedule in advance. Once you reach the junction, you can either walk (approximately 2 kilometers) or hire a local taxi to take you to the Puuc Tun T'eel Archeological Site. Make sure to negotiate the fare before the ride; it should cost around $10-$15 BZD.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and wish to walk from Sarteneja, you can follow the main road (Road 1) southeast for about 3 kilometers until you reach the junction. From there, continue on a dirt road for about 2 kilometers. The total walking distance is approximately 5 kilometers, so be prepared for a long trek. Bring plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes.
