Car
From any location within Toledo District, head towards the town of Punta Gorda. If you are starting from the main town of Punta Gorda, take the Southern Highway (also known as the Hummingbird Highway) heading south towards Monkey River. The drive is approximately 20 minutes. Once you reach the junction towards Monkey River (there will be a signpost), turn left onto a dirt road. Continue on this road for about 10 minutes until you reach the village of Monkey River. Parking is available near the river.
Public Transportation (Bus)
If you are using public transportation, head to the bus terminal in Punta Gorda. Look for buses heading to Monkey River or any that are going towards the village of Independence, which is nearby. The fare is typically around BZD 5-10. Inform the bus driver that you wish to get off at Monkey River or at the junction where you can access the dirt road leading to Monkey River. After you get off, you may need to walk a short distance (approximately 0.5 miles) to reach the village.
Boat
For a more scenic route, consider taking a boat from Punta Gorda or from the nearby village of Independence. You can arrange a boat ride through local tour operators or fishermen. The cost for a boat ride can vary, but expect to pay around BZD 20-40 per person, depending on the size of the boat and the number of passengers.
