If you are driving from San Ignacio, head southeast on the Southern Highway (Hummingbird Highway) towards Belmopan. After about 30 minutes, turn left onto the Mountain Pine Ridge Road. Follow this road for approximately 18 miles. You will pass through the village of Douglas Da Silva, where the reserve is located. Look for signs indicating the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. The entrance is approximately 2 miles past the village.
Public Transportation
To reach Mountain Pine Ridge using public transport, start at the San Ignacio bus terminal. Take a bus headed towards Belmopan. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Douglas Da Silva. The ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Douglas Da Silva, you can either walk (approximately 2 miles) towards the reserve or arrange for a local taxi to take you the rest of the way. Ensure you have cash for the taxi fare, which may vary but generally costs around $10-15 BZD.
