If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Donga and head south towards the city of Cotonou. You will take the NIE1 road, which is a well-maintained highway. The journey will take approximately 3 to 4 hours, depending on traffic. Upon reaching Cotonou, follow signs directing you to Haie Vive, where Obama Beach is located. Once in the Haie Vive area, you will find parking options near the beach.
Public Transportation
To reach Obama Beach via public transportation, first head to the main bus station in Donga. Board a bus heading to Cotonou. The fare is usually around 1,500 CFA francs. The bus ride will take approximately 4 to 5 hours. Once you arrive in Cotonou, you can take a taxi or a motorbike taxi (zemidjan) to Haie Vive. The taxi fare should not exceed 1,000 CFA francs. Inform the driver that you would like to go to Obama Beach.
