Getting There

From the center of Mongar, head towards the main road (Jakar-Mongar Highway). Walk in the direction of Jakar, which is approximately 12 kilometers away. As you leave the town, enjoy the scenic views of the valleys and mountains. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left path towards Jakar. Continue walking along this road for another 20-30 minutes until you reach the entrance of Jakar town. Once you enter Jakar, ask locals for directions to Tamshing Lhakhang, which is well-known and they can guide you to the temple.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Mongar. Start by heading towards the main road leading to Jakar. The route is scenic, and you can stop along the way to take pictures. It is about 12 kilometers to Jakar, which will take approximately 1 hour depending on your cycling speed. Once you reach Jakar, you can ask locals for directions to Tamshing Lhakhang. The temple is located a short distance from the town center.
