Getting There

Walking
From the center of Punakha, head southeast on the main road (Punakha-Wangdue Highway). You will pass by the Punakha Dzong on your left. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction. At the junction, turn left onto the road leading towards Teoprongchu. Continue walking for another 1 kilometer. You will see Chimi Lhakhang on your right, situated on a small hill surrounded by fields.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Punakha. Start by heading southeast on the Punakha-Wangdue Highway. Ride towards the Punakha Dzong, which will be on your left. After about 1.5 kilometers, at the junction, make a left turn towards Teoprongchu. Continue biking for approximately 1 kilometer. Chimi Lhakhang will be on your right, up a small hill with beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Locate the local bus station in Punakha, near the main square. Take a bus heading towards Teoprongchu. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Chimi Lhakhang. The bus will drop you off at the closest stop. From there, you will need to walk about 10 minutes up a small hill to reach the temple, following the signs for Chimi Lhakhang.
