Getting There

• Walking

  From the Punakha Dzong, head northeast on Chhuzom Road towards the Punakha Suspension Bridge. Walk across the bridge, taking in the scenic views of the river below. Once you reach the other side, continue straight on the dirt road for about 1.5 kilometers. Look for signs towards Laptshakha; you will see a fork in the road where you should take a left turn. Follow this road until you reach a small village. Thuji Homestay is located at Laptshakha, and you can ask locals for further directions if needed. The homestay is approximately 2 kilometers from the bridge, so the total walking distance is about 3.5 kilometers from the dzong.

• Cycling

  If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Punakha. Start at Punakha Dzong and cycle northeast towards the Punakha Suspension Bridge. After crossing the bridge, continue straight on the dirt road for about 1.5 kilometers. You'll encounter a fork in the road; take the left turn that leads towards Laptshakha. This route will take you through the picturesque countryside. Thuji Homestay is located in the village of Laptshakha, approximately 3.5 kilometers from the dzong.

• Local Bus

  From the main bus terminal in Punakha, you can take a local bus heading towards Laptshakha. Make sure to ask the driver or locals if the bus stops at Laptshakha, as not all buses do.
