Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Sarpang town. Head east on the main road (Thimphu-Phuentsholing Highway) for approximately 30 kilometers. You will pass through scenic landscapes. Once you reach the junction near Jakar, take a left turn onto the road leading to Jakar Dzong. Follow the signs for Jakar Dzongkhag Office. The dzong is located in the town of Jakar, approximately 5 kilometers from the main junction.
Public Transport
For those using public transport, you can take a local bus from Sarpang to Jakar. Buses typically depart from the main bus stop in Sarpang. The journey takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Jakar, you can either walk or take a taxi to Jakar Dzong, which is located about 1 kilometer from the bus station. Taxi fares are generally around 100-150 Ngultrum.
Taxi
You can also hire a taxi directly from Sarpang to Jakar Dzong. This is a more comfortable option if you have luggage or prefer a direct route. The fare may vary but is usually around 800-1000 Ngultrum for a one-way trip, depending on your negotiation with the driver.
